I don't unnderstand these female writers. They write about weak woman, insecure man who theses weak women will let anything happen as long as they orgasm.... SMH the fantasies you women come up with😐
Loved the strong dominance of Jay. His protective nature was a complication for his true love, Allie. A dynamic I wish would have been a touch tougher before she caved.
Jay is bound and determined to keep Allie safe, even from herself. I love that Allie is the most important person in his world and he's willing to go to great lengths to show her the depth of his feelings. He doesn't shy away from telling her of his love and reminding her that her safety is his priority. He definitely puts his foot down and takes his role as protector seriously, even when he has a lot of other things going on. His possessiveness is so hot! Allie gives as good as she gets, though she's got no defense against Jay's passionate deductions. She finds other ways to remind him that she is a grown woman and if he wants peace then he had better recognize that! When he ignores this, she gives him hell. Loved Allie!
Wow! I have been looking for this author for a long time! I love OTT alpha males that aren't nasty, cruel jerks. OK, Jay Le Croix is a bad guy. But he has just that perfect combination of firmness and gentleness that makes me hot every time. Too many alpha males exert dominance for no other reason than just to dominate. Jay is an alpha, but he uses that to protect Allie. He's firm with her, but gentle as well.
I also like the fact that Allie is strong without being TSTL ("too stupid to live.") Too often an author will endanger the heroine because she makes such stupid choices she kind of brings it on herself. Not so with Allie. Jay has told her he wants her safe, but she's seen nothing to suggest that she's actually in danger and, as a strong woman, she's fighting for her independence and integrity. I like that she's not a push over nor a bitch.
This is the first book I've read by Nikita Slater. I heard about her on a thread on the Romance discussion forum. It certainly won't be the last one I read, though! My only complaint was that it was too short. I would have liked to have seen how she, as the woman of a very rich man with lots of body guards, was able to have some semblance of a normal life. What's it like to go shopping with so many body guards in tow? What sort of daily life they settle into when she's not struggling for independence? The book was a great read, though, despite it being too short. )
Brilliant! The only thing I'd want to change is to make it longer!!!!! I couldn't get enough! The obsessive alpha male who's possessive, yet the female lead isn't meek or weak at all. Submissive yet, fierce. Loved it!
Ok ... so here's the thing. Great characters, intense chemistry but I fee like it was a bit rush. I feel like the Ms. Slater wanted to add more to the story but she didn't . I wish she gave me an epilogue but overall great story Ms. Slater
This was a great book!!!! If you enjoy hot crazy in love alpha males that will do anything to keep their woman safe you have to read this book. Warning it does contain some possible triggers and slightly dubious consent. Great job can't wait to read the next!!!
