Exactly what I needed just the facts and made some good ass bread. Definitely bare bones and I would like to read more. It this is definitely a good step in my baking journey.
This book is concise and funny, and I now feel quite confident that I have learned the principles of baking sourdough bread.
If only Mr. Plobber would watch his language. Constant, unnecessary vulgarity mars an otherwise entertaining and informative guide.

this book big time slaps. it's good folks.
I've successfully made a sourdough loaf following the process in the book. It was damn ass good. I'm making my second batch as I type. I've also used the dough to make pizza. The only thing that didn't work for me was the dollop test. But, after 15 hours it looked like something resembling dough (I've been baking for a number of years) so I moved forward anyway, and it worked out. Besides, the prose is hilarious! I particularly enjoyed the contrast of the typically serious/dry subject matter and the way the Holbert speaks of it. Yes, there's a ton of profanity. But I knew that because, you know, I read the sample.
